Our Society

Our society is open to skaters of all levels, whether you are a seasoned pro coming to compete and sharpen your skills, or a complete beginner wanting to make friends and learn a new sport - we have something for everyone.

Our society offers weekly off-ice training and runs, as well as a group on ice session in which many of our members train together. If hard-core training isn’t your style, we also host many exciting events and collaborations where you can have fun while skating!

Victor is a Third year med student and a keen figure skater. This is his second year on the committee and is super excited to bring exciting new activities and ideas to the role

cale is a second year cognitive science student and competes both singles and pair skating. She was previously the head of social media and marketing and is excited to help rebrand the skate society and create an amazing team.

emma is a third year history student and loves to skate in her spare time. She has competed at the inter-university competition and has taken home a medal. She is super excited to be part of the committee this year.

Amie is a third year law and business student and was an avid skater now returning to the sport. Amie is also a runner and loves to visit the gym in her time off. She has lots of experience working for charities and running committees, so we are so excited to have her in the role this year.

zetta is a second year med student. Zetta used to skate 7 years ago, but has recently picked it back up during university. Zetta has lived in 6 different countries and has incredible ideas. We are so happy to have her running events this year.

andrew cunningham

Andrew is a third year astrophysics student. He started skating less than a year ago and has already competed in pairs during the inter-university competition and placed second. He had an incredible time learning to skate last year and now wants to help do the same for others by being in the committee.

Our Weekly Schdedule

wednesday:

Our members train at murrayfield ice rink on the 6-9pm session, we have bi-monthly socials before or after for team bonding

Saturday:

We have weekly off-ice training for all levels in the pleasance gym from 10am-12pm

Sunday:

We have weekly guided runs suitable for all levels with 1k, 3k, and 5k routes, so you can build stamina, then coffee and cake afterwards
